Bear in mind that markets operate on speculation as well - Jobs in good health, positive expected growth and speculation on future innovations and sales drives share prices.
Thus when one of these factors changes so does the expected projections (although this may not occur). If the stock market is wrong it will re-adjust again.
Personally, I'm glad many countries don't do after-hours trading. Remember, traders should have a life too! :)

I'm looking at upgrading my Mac Mini to 8GB of RAM (from 4). I checked out the Apple store (eeek, I know) and it was around $600 CDN for the 8GB of RAM!!!!
Question, though...based on what I know of the type of RAM in the mini, I can purchase some non-Apple branded RAM form my local computer store for about $100.
I know Apple is over-priced, but this is insanely over-priced. Am I missing something or risking anything if I go with the non-Apple RAM?
Specifically, the RAM I'm looking at getting is this one:

Just in case anybody is interested...
I made a simple CoreImage test app to try and get to grips with CoreImage. It's not very advanced but it can do a number of effects and is fun to play with.
I need somebody to host it for the moment because I'm away from my webserver so if anybody can do that then it will be available for download.
Requires a CoreImage compatible graphics card that is Quartz2DExtreme capable. Works nice and smoothly on my 17" Powerbook (Most recent gen).

I have a white iPhone4, I have no issues with the sensor or drop of signal at all :)
I was waiting on the 5 but have always wanted a white iPhone, my 3GS is black and so far I'm very pleased indeed :D

The quotes in the article don't even imply the guy said AMOLED screens are better, only that there is only 3-5% less visible difference (using some of that creative math since the actual difference he states is 20%) between the AMOLED screens and Apple's new screen.
Even then it conveniently ignores the fact that AMOLED screens are completely useless outside.
In any case it's a weak and completely ineffectual attempt at muckraking.

Windows is using cloud computing now which is what you are sort of referring to. The problem is that they way you think it should work is not how someone else might think it should work. Frankly I don't like having files sync across all computers as there is a potential to screwup revisions. This is control I want.
What you can do is simply share the folder on one computer and connect to it with the other to get to the file you want. If you don't like that, other methods like a sync program could be used to copy the files to the other computer.

This always confuses me. Why do they call it a newsreader? Why not an RSS reader? This does nothing more than keep track of and read RSS feeds. It's not significantly different/better than the RSS capability built into Safari or Firefox.
Maybe I'm a purist (or a snob), but to me a "newsreader" is an application used to read the newsgroups (the Usenet). Panic's Unison application is a newsreader. It connects to newsgroup servers and allows me to read posts and download attachments.
Am I being too picky?

Not sure about looking like an iPhone 4, but put an opaque case on and people won't know if it's a phone or iPod without looking at the screen status bar where it says "iPod *signal strength*" And you can change the name on the status bar too with jailbreaking. :D

haveu tried reparing permissions? and checking the mic/volume settings? I've been able to use ichat AV, and itunes on with 10.2.6 running perfectly and i have the same computer

What's everyone's favorite CMS and what kind of CMS do you have? Recently I've been taking web development more seriously and have been working primarily with Drupal. I really enjoy Wordpress though and find it much easier to teach a client how to use WP3 compared to D7. I've never tried Joomla, and have been seeing what all the fuss is about RoR a couple years late :p.
My next personal project is a niche community site, trying to decide what would be the best fit. I know another drupal developer who has much more experience, but we don't know if it'd be the ideal platform for what we want to create.

You can't use a disk that came with another mac. You need to use a full retail version. Also you will need to do a clean install, you can't do an upgrade install coming from Tiger.
Will I be able to put the retail version on a flash drive? Because my dvd drive is pretty much busted.
Would it be possible just to clone my Macbook 6,1 HDD and restore it to the HDD on the 1,1?
