Not sure why you didn't just move along instead of posting a snide comment. I read the product review and saw a variety of answers. I came here to confirm them
Just trying to show you a much more efficient method. You would have had your answer in less than 3 minutes plus I didn't say anything about the reviews, the product page itself clearly states product does not support audio.

It occurs to me that I see all kinds of threads about 'hackin' or upgrading a Mac that is 8 or more years old so that it can run with the latest software.
It's interesting because these machines are still working well enough to want to do this to.
How many threads do you see about PC users wishing to do the same?
Food for thought.

i've had this lens for about 7 months now and while i think it's a great lens, how to get consistent focus with the AF is still a mystery to me. i generally shoot around 1.8 to 2.2 so i know the dof is pretty shallow and perhaps that is part of the reason, but when i shoot, i generally use the center point, focus on the eyes or some part of the face and then reposition. sometimes it comes out the way i want, as in this example (http://www.flickr.com/photos/70072717@N00/5555471847/in/pool-56354702@N00/), other times, the focus seems to be on something else (http://www.flickr.com/photos/70072717@N00/5556060766/), not where I had intended (the water gun is in focus but i wanted the face to be). any advice on what i need to change in my methodology? thanks.

don't be too worried my computer came out just fine during the upgrade. everything was left just the way it was. It was a very painless upgrade but that's a good thing :). Everyone have fun with the your new toy. :apple:

No offense to disc lovers, but this is why I'm glad discs are over with. Loads of discs laying all over the place looks terrible.

I was actually thinking of waiting until I could get 8GB and SandyBridge (iX) processors. ;) But the fact they'll have to be ULV will still make their performance lower than the MBPs.
A MBA with SandyBridge and 8GB of ram would be a really nice machine

that's strange. I have a dual 1.8 G5 and that delivers about 200 points per day easy (both procs together), when it's folding 24/7. I have a 2.0 P4 at work and that's doing a bit less then 1 1.8 G5. So, with your setup:
dual 2.4 = 200 points
3.6 Xeon = 150 points.
But you probably don't have a dual script installed on the dual 2.4? And does these computers have hypertrading?? If so, then folding only uses 50% of your computing power.

The MBPs get updated far more often than the MP, so they "age" quicker, decreasing their resale value. Almost two MBPs a year, whereas the Mac Pro gets update every what, 18 months?
The fact that you can't upgrade a notebook has already been said.
Pop in two 3GHz quad cores, 16GB RAM, a 5870 and some SSDs in a 2006 Mac Pro and you still have a more than decent machine for the vast majority of tasks.
A 2006MBP, however, is pretty much done these days. A maximum of 2GB RAM and a SATA 1.5Gb/s interface make this machine not impossible to upgrade, by beyond practicality.

Added my review in the other thread.
Basically it's good, but requires a heck of a lot of space (more than move or Wii combined) and most games menu systems are pants of the launch titles I purchased.

iMacs have never had HDMI ports.
you just need the right adapter: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5311&seq=1&format=2
Thank you the bottom of the page says Thunderbolt compatible also but doesn't say how.

Hi guys, wanted to see what people's thoughts are on the iPad 2 Launch in Solihull and if anyone had any news or info.
Far as I'm concerned I'll be there, from previous launches people turned up and queued around 5.30/6 in the morning, from info I got from Touchwood security, on 25th they will be opening the Poplar Entrance (near John Lewis) before any other door due to the problems with too many open at the same time, which in turn caused too much chaos at previous launches.car park queuers will be led to the back of the main entrance line to keep order so personally would be just easier to walk round to secure your space and avoid disappointment.
As normal touchwood don't tend to give much away so I was lucky to get any info at all but it sounded fairly well thoughtout to stop any apple madness happening.
If your going, good luck and share any info as I have and we can all hopefully enjoy a nice new iPad 2 come Friday.

I know I'm bumping a slightly old post, but I'm in the exact same position as you! I really wanted to get Black to for gaming nostalgia, but I read online that they are planning on a 3D pokemon title, and that game won't work on the DSi. So, I think I've decided to just go and get a 3DS--

I think Linux-on-iPod needs a mod player :)
That would be a fun project to do. I would love to be able to play xm/mod/it songs on my ipod.. interesting.

I will have to try Mac the Ripper for the one movie. Thanks for the tip!
I think I fixed the slow handbrake problem. When I was queuing (sp?) up all the movies the last one I tried was the Hunt for Red October. Well with that one possible have region problems it never quit trying to scan source.
So I took all queued movies out of the queue and stopped the super slow encode and restarted. I started over and queued up everything except Hunt for Red October. So far fps is back up to averaging in the 30's. All seems back to normal.
Thanks guys.

byteSizeOfElement is wrong. Your code will only work (if all other bugs are fixed) with 64 bit code, not with 32 bit code.
Care to explain why?
Having little faith in the user (mainly me) to actually release the pointer, I already decided to get the value by passing a reference.
-(void) element:(void *) element
