I'm pretty happy with my OWC. Has sleep issues, but apparently its been fixed, just haven't had time to update the firmware.

In this case, he got what he deserved.
Next in line: Michael Vick.

I'd say this is deserving of a Darwin Award

I read the info about Katie Melua -- didn't play any of her music on iTunes because it was in the wee hours of the morn and didn't want to disturb my neighbors, but I'll be giving her a listen today -- and noticed that one of her songs pays homage to Eva Cassidy. Now there's a singer you should hear if you haven't already been captivated by her incredible voice! Unfortunately, her albums aren't on iTunes, you'd have to check her out at other websites -- probably you can hear portions of her songs at Amazon or Tower. Two fairly standard songs to which she gives incredible new meaning are "Danny Boy" and "Over the Rainbow." Her version of "Over the Rainbow" just blows Judy Garland right out of the water and then some. It is simply stunning.
Eva Cassidy, sadly, is no longer with us. She died of cancer several years ago, but thankfully, her music lives on. All of Eva's albums have actually been released posthumously and for a long time she was known only to people in the DC area who frequented local jazz clubs. She had an amazing and eclectic approach to songs and did a little of eveything, from ballads to gospel to jazz "scat" tunes. Her voice was especially suited to ballads and she worked wonders with just her voice and a guitar....

I am about to buy one of these new iMac 27" and I have a second monitor that has RGB (VGA) and HDMI entries. What cable should I buy to convert thunderbolt to HDMI? What's the best/recommended one?
Will the output deliver the audio too?
I have searched Apple and apparently they have no cable there for doing that.
thanks.

I have a 1TB WD Caviar Black drive as an external and I'm glad they put in the Seagate in mine.
My Caviar Black is fast, but it's a lot of clicking and seeking.
I also have a Caviar Green and a Caviar Blue, the green being my favorite as it's pretty silent.
I can't hear my Seagate drive at all even when transferring documents at full tilt.
I have to say, I'm used to SSDs but I think I'll be OK with this drive until Lion is released and hopeful the Intel SSD 320s drop in price and I get the nerve up to open this baby up and do some surgery...

Never hurts to drop off your resume to one of the store's managers. Ask for the "Store Leader" though as that is the main store manager and usually has the final say about the hiring.
Do the Apple stores accept applications like that anymore?

Again I am sorry. I just got very worked up over it.
That seems like a long time ago now though.:)

At our store, they were yelling to the people in the hallway at about 7:00, "anyone want a free t-shirt?" So there was no need to buy one and the people at the store didn't seem to care about it, either.

i will say the kinect is pretty awesome though lol
surely you can buy one via online however right?
I check Amazon. The 4GB can really only be found with the bundle. You can get a stand alone 250 gig system.

You have an iMac in your garage?
Yup. Its sitting on a wall mounted stand by the workbench. Comes in handy while working on the car. I can get on parts websites and forums without having to go inside. Very nice when using pictures or diagrams posted online.

Well my quad core i7 MPB turned up this morning, so the first thing had to be to see how well it folds!
It's just the stock 2.0 GHz 15" version, but initial indications are good.
It downloaded a 6701 WU, which do tend to be slower than the others, so I'll update these figures once its done a few different units.
TPF: 11 min 46 s
PPD: 6184
CPU temp: 85 C
Fan speed: 4667 rpm (both)
Power draw: 58-59 W (screen off, 62-63 W with screen on)
For comparison, my 2.4 C2D iMac does about 1400 ppd using 75 W, but at a much cooler 54 C.
Feel free to add your own Sandy Bridge numbers for comparison.
Keep folding!
Rob

What you want to do with the secondary display is called clamshell mode.
You need an external keyboard and mouse to achieve it.
1. Plug in and turn on external display
2. Close the lid of the computer, let it sleep
3. Wake it up using said external keyboard and mouse
4. Your external is now your main, and only display, running at it's native resolution.

Hello Everyone on Macrumors,
Just wanted to say that I am running a Developer Preview of Mac OS X Lion and it is pretty cool. There are a few bugs here and there but otherwise it works great. Has all the features that they Demoed in the Keynote in October (those are the big ones) they also changed the look of all the buttons (They look cool and more modern because the buttons have been the same since 10.0)
If anyone wants to ask me anything about it I will be happy to answer any questions
Posting a Screen Shot of one of my favorite features.

Why am I folding?
Because:
1) To help find a cure for disease.
2) To help the MR Folding Team.
3) Makes me feel good to have my Mac doing something important.
4) Keeps me nice and warm during winter (and rather hot unfortunately during summer).

Thanks a lot!
One more question: Is the soap essential or is it just to keep the skin sliding for readjustment?

Importing from Europe would be even more interesting. But I'm not sure that most of the cars built for their consumption meet U.S. emissions and crash testing standards. Therefore, obtaining registration would probably be unduly difficult.
Of course, if you want to drive your diesel on a private race track, or just up and down your driveway (read: off of public thoroughfares), you'll have no trouble whatsover.
